The JES – Electoral Literacy Club (JES – ELC)
The JES – Electoral Literacy Club (JES – ELC) was inaugurated on October 12, 2022, with the aim of fostering a comprehensive understanding of the electoral process among college students. This initiative serves as a dynamic platform where students are actively engaged through a variety of interactive activities and hands-on experiences, enabling them to become well-versed in the critical aspects of voter registration and the electoral process.
The club’s mission is multifaceted, focusing on not only educating students about the technicalities and significance of voter registration but also on elucidating the broader electoral framework that governs democratic participation. By doing so, the JES – ELC seeks to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become informed and proactive participants in the democratic process.
The JES – Electoral Literacy Club is not just an educational initiative but a movement aimed at nurturing a generation of informed voters who understand their rights and responsibilities within a democratic society.
1. To help the target audience understand the value of their vote.
2. To educate the targeted population about voter registration and electoral process.
3. To facilitate voter registration for its eligible members who are not yet registered.
4. To develop a culture of electoral participation and maximize the informed and ethical voting.
5. To harness the potential of ELC members for carrying the electoral literacy in the communities.
